Lunchtime with LibraryThing – Monday Edition

image

Every day this week during lunch (EST), LibraryThing will be giving away a free lifetime membership, a $25 value! If today is the first time you’ve heard of LT, this contest is for you. If you already use LT’s limited free services or pay on a yearly basis, this contest is for you. If you already have a lifetime membership, then you know the joys LT and can attest to others how great this prize is.

In case you are unfamiliar with LibraryThing and its services, here is a description from their website:

LibraryThing is is an online service to help people catalog their books easily. You can access your catalog from anywhere—even on your mobile phone. Because everyone catalogs together, LibraryThing also connects people with the same books, comes up with suggestions for what to read next, and so forth.

Each day, I’ll be highlighting one of LibraryThing’s features. Today I want to highlight the most basic – cataloging.

When I enter a book into my library, it already knows the book’s basic information almost all of the time (when it doesn’t you get the opportunity to add to the knowledge). From there, I can add as much or as little additional details as I’d like. The most frequent ways I document my new books are by cataloging them within my library, identifying the date the book entered my library, and adding tags if the book needs to be read or reviewed by a specific date. There are many other possibilities as well as places for public and private notes. Once a book is added to my library, I can slice and dice the way I browse it. There are also five preset views that can be modified and saved to allow me to peruse my bookshelves any way I’d like. My personal favorite is to see my most recent acquisitions along with the thumbnail of the book covers.

Are you ready to enter for your opportunity to win a lifetime membership? Simply fill out the following form. One entry per Book Blogger. This contest will close at 8AM EST tomorrow (9/14).

This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for your interest.
